Gift #479

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life and lose sight of what makes us happy. Really happy. But making sure our happiness meter is giving optimal readings can provide many health benefits specially for our heart.

Happy people have younger hearts, younger arteries, and a younger Real Age. Happiness predicts lower heart rate and blood pressure. There is a link between happiness and another measure of heart health - heart rate variability, which refers to the time interval between heartbeats and is associated with risk for various diseases. Happy people are less likely to develop coronary heart diseases. Infact research has shown that happiness is measurable next to other heart boosters, such as not smoking and exercising regularly.
